What is the hype behind Mexican Sabritas (chips)?

Whether you live in Los Angeles or in rural Missouri, the growing awareness of the Mexican culture is real. It is creeping into our daily lives and routines. "Tacos for dinner?" is now colloquial in the US, however 25 years ago, not so much.

Mexican Sabritas (chips), which are extremely popular & lusted after in niche communities is slowly starting to crash our culture with the tide of all things Mexico. If you've never heard of these chips, you may wonder what the hype is around these snacks. Well, we will share what makes them so special.

In general, Mexican Sabritas pack noticeably more flavor in every bite. Whether it is cheesy, spicy, salsa verde, salsa roja, limoncito or a combination of flavors, Mexican chips just have more your taste buds will look forward to. Let's look into a couple of examples and comparisons. 

 Doritos Mexicanos

Imagine cheesier, thinner, crispier Doritos with a hint of spice..... Yummy. Natives know and love the flavor. If trying for the first time, be prepared to set the bar higher for 'regular' Doritos.

Important note, most Mexican chips have a touch of heat, so, unfortunately, if you are not a big fan of a little heat in your food, sabritas may not be for you. 

Cheetos Colmillos

The favorite of so many of our customers and our top-selling bag of Mexican chips. Cheetos Colmillos is in its own league of snacks, it's unlike any other chip out there. Colmillo, Spanish for fang, is well, shaped like a Vampire Fang. These puffy and unique chips pack a punch of heat as you pop them in your mouth. Great starter if you are trying Mexican chips for the first time.

Cheetos Torciditos

Another customer favorite! With Cheetos Torciditos, the upgrade from regular Cheetos is very similar to the Doritos Mexicanos. They are cheesier, crunchier, with a touch of heat. If you love spicy food and like these, we recommend trying Cheetos Xtra Flamin Hot.

Ruffles Queso

Calling all cheddar cheese lovers!!! By now, it is not a surprise to read that these babies are loaded with extra layers of cheese. Delicious snack while watching a movie or enjoy with a sandwich.
